I am a writer and I have vowed to make a living through my writing. It is merely the world’s biggest online retailer, so it is really a very good choice after all. I’ve made some purchases on Amazon, usually books and other reading materials, but I have never experienced being a seller. So I immediately researched on how to sell your book on Amazon, so I can immediately take advantage of the opportunity.
Selling Books on Amazon
Practically anyone can buy or sell anything on Amazon, so I thought selling my book through it is the most logical thing to do. And after all, Amazon started out as an online bookstore, so it just goes with what I want to do perfectly.
• The first step to sell a book on Amazon is to get an International Standard Book Number (ISBN), which is assigned to each edition or variation of any book. The ISBN should be included in the copyright page of the book, and the bar code of the ISBN should be placed at the back of the book.
• Next step would be to sign up for either the Amazon Advantage Program or the Amazon Advantage professional. Amazon Advantage basically helps everyone who wants who to sell their books. The Amazon Advantage Professional, on the other hand, is meant for books that might be a little more expensive. Annual fee is at $29.95.
• Designate the title or titles that you want to submit, and then send the application. Approval will soon follow.
• You will be required a couple of copies of the book, after which Amazon will provide you with a notice if it falls below a certain level.
• Finally, you will need to submit synopsis, cover jpg, and some reviews of the book. If corrections are necessary, submit these immediately.
