The Internet has become one of life’s necessities. Anyone who does not want to acknowledge that has been living under a rock all these years, or is simply being blind to the truth that is all around us right now. And this is great, in my view, since technology is being developed in such a rapid pace. This means that the things that are affected by technology will directly benefit from all of this quick development and progress. For someone who follows and make use of all this technology, I couldn’t be happier with all of this.

What does a bad ESN actually mean, especially as it relates to eBay? Well ESN actually means Electronic Serial Number, a 32-bit number that manufacturers use to identify a wireless device. Cellular phone companies use ESN for identification of the phones, although other means of phone identification is seeing increased use. The ESN is the number used when activating a phone, so that when the owner of the phone tries to activate the phone, the ESN is required. The phone provider will verify that the phone has already been sold and is then ready for activation. On the other hand, a bad ESN is where the ESN does not function properly during the phone’s activation. The cellular phone provider can easily identify a bad ESN during an attempted activation of the phone. So a bad ESN on eBay simply means that an individual has purchased a phone that has been either stolen or still tied to another person’s account due to unpaid balances. Buyers should protect themselves by directly inquiring from the seller and asking for the ESN number and then contacting the cell phone provider to clear things up.
